Two Ghanaians; #Patrick Nyarko and David Accam combined well to take Chicago Fire to the semi finals of the US Open Cup with a 3-1 win over Orlando City on Thursday.
Nyarko opened the scoring after just three minutes to register his first goal of the year in the US Cup.
But Orlando pulled even 11 minutes into the restart through Cyle Larin.
The match looked destined to go into extra time until substitute David Accam produced a moment of magic by beating his marker with his lightening pace as he made his way into the box.
The #Ghana striker fired at goal from close range but his near-post attempt drew iron and bounced back into the middle of the box where Kennedy Igboananike was waiting to calmly put his shot into the net in the 87th minute.
Four minutes later, Igboananike doubled his goal total and his team’s lead – finishing off a neat counter attack.
Chicago Fire will now face Philadelphia Union in the semi finals on August 11.
